The ceremony began with the entrance of all graduates, followed by a warm welcome from Ms. Martine Lusignan, the event coordinator. The assembly then honored the National Anthems of China and Canada. Thomas C., the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024, delivered a heartfelt speech that set the tone for the evening.

Dr. Francis Pang, Chairman of the School Board, shared his congratulations and words of wisdom via video.

Ms. Joyce Pang, the ISNS Executive Director, then delivered a heartfelt message, expressing immense pride and joy in the graduates’ achievements and encouraging them to embrace diversity, strive for excellence, and make a positive impact in the world.

 Ms. Joyce Pang

 Executive Director

“Embrace diversity and inclusivity, strive for excellence in all that you do, and never underestimate the power of empathy and understanding in building bridges across cultures and communities.

Remember that all you have learned here at ISNS is not just a stepping stone to a successful career, but a foundation upon which you can build a meaningful and impactful life. Use your knowledge, skills, and experiences to make a difference in the world, to advocate for positive change, and to be an inspiration to those around you. ”

Dr. Addie Loy, our Head of School, then addressed the graduates, emphasizing the importance of caring for oneself, others, and the global community, a core value of ISNS.

 Dr. Addie Loy

 Head of School

“We address the importance of caring in three ways – for ourselves, for each other, and for our global community. Often, we are focused solely on our own personal advancement and achievements. But true happiness and meaning in life comes not from selfish pursuits, but from our ability to look beyond ourselves and cultivate compassion for others. Each of you has been given great opportunities within your life and within your education. These opportunities have exposed you to experiences that have shaped your personal beliefs, your personality, and cultivated your talents. It is now your obligation to your talents to make a positive difference in the world. You can do this by opening up your heart to inclusivity, helping to change systems that are unjust and advocating for equity. Take the time to acknowledge the local and global challenges and use and further develop your skills to be a catalyst for change. “

Ms. Chelsea Donaldson, the High School Principal, also spoke, highlighting the exceptional achievements of the graduates.

The ceremony featured award presentations and captivating performances.

The Spirit of the Phoenix Award

Cathy Y.

The Spirit of the Phoenix award is awarded by grade 12 staff and students to a graduate who embodies the IB Learner profile trait of “caring.”

The recipient epitomizes our motto of “caring locally, thriving globally.” Every day their positivity and empathy impact our school; staff and students alike note their ability to make others feel comfortable, their helpfulness, cheery nature, and inclusivity. They leave us with the knowledge that they will thrive globally, as whatever community they become a part of will be a better, kinder place because of their presence.

Head of School Award

The Head of School Award is presented to a student that is creative, compassionate, hardworking, and makes a difference in the ISNS community. He or she raises the level of academic achievement for all students by promoting a positive attitude towards learning and helps to create a supportive social and emotional environment.
