Anemia is a lack of healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body, essential to regular function. Symptoms can include Tiredness, Weakness, Shortness of breath, Irregular heartbeat, Dizziness or lightheadedness, Chest pain and Headaches.
While there are many possible causes for anemia, it is commonly caused by Iron deficiency and Vitamin Deficiency. Iron, Vitamin B12 and folate are essential for the body to produce red blood cells. If you are feeling tired or short of breath for no obvious reason, or feel your nutritional intake may be insufficient of these essential vitamins, come in to see one of our doctors for an anemia screening.
