The modern “Citizen’s Center” has amazing architecture and features a roof in the shape of a bird. Right next to the Center (on the east side) you can find the equally beautiful Shenzhen Library and Shenzhen Concert Hall. Across the plaza from the Library is a huge bookstore where you can purchase books printed in English. The store is so big it has a few different restaurants so it makes a good place to while away rainy days or for those on a low budget. To the North of the bookstore you can find a park with a statue of Deng Xiaoping (1904-1197). He was the leader of the Communist Party who led China towards a market economy. From the park you can also take a great photograph of the Citizen’s Center. Travelers report the best time to visit the area is 13: 00 to grab a meal in the bookstore. The best time to take a photograph of the Center is in the evening when the lights illuminate the amazing architecture.
