New York City’s iconic streetwear brand FRIED RICE has landed in Asia with a vibrant pop-up at K11 ECOAST, Shenzhen, launched on August 30, 2025. Open daily from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM through August 2026, this year-long showcase marks the brand’s bold first step in a strategic expansion across Asia, aiming to forge deep connections with the region’s creative communities.

“This pop-up is our bridge to Asia’s dynamic creative scene,” said Maya Wang, Founder and Creative Director of FRIED RICE. “We’re not just here to sell clothes—we’re here to collaborate, inspire, and build heart-to-heart connections with artists, creators, and dreamers across the region.”

A Slice of NYC in Shenzhen

The FRIED RICE pop-up captures the gritty, artistic essence of a New York City loft with a sleek, industrial design that doubles as an interactive gallery. Shoppers can explore the brand’s seasonal collections and exclusive drops while immersing themselves in a space built for creativity. A standout feature is the custom DJ booth, equipped with vinyl turntables and a premium sound system featuring vintage 1970s Altec-Lansing Mantaray speakers imported from Japan, setting the stage for unforgettable cultural experiences.

Opening Weekend Highlights

The launch weekend was a celebration of global and local talent, featuring all-vinyl sets by DJ YEYE, Hangzhou’s Mic Check12 from the Future Sounds crew, Shenzhen favorite Big Joe, and DJ MauroBel (DANTE), a Bogotá-born, NYC-based artist, performing live alongside Filipino percussionist Mark Ayos. The eclectic lineup reflects FRIED RICE’s commitment to uniting diverse creative voices through music, art, and fashion.

What’s Next for FRIED RICE

The Shenzhen pop-up is just the beginning of FRIED RICE’s ambitious Asia expansion. Founder Maya Wang and her team are exploring distribution deals, live retail broadcasts, and licensing partnerships in key markets like Japan, China, and Korea. A Tokyo pop-up is already in the works for 2026, and the brand will return to Asia ComplexCon in Hong Kong for its third consecutive year in early 2026.

By blending streetwear with immersive cultural experiences, FRIED RICE is redefining retail as a platform for creativity and connection. Visit the K11 ECOAST pop-up to discover the collections, vibe to live performances, and join a movement that’s bringing NYC’s bold energy to Asia’s creative forefront.
