About INX Collective

The INX Collective is an ensemble of international visual artists based in Shenzhen, China, whose practices reflect the diversity and energy of the city’s global creative community. Working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists bring perspectives shaped by their own cultural backgrounds into dialogue with Shenzhen’s rapidly evolving present, producing work that reflects both individual experience and the realities of living and working within one of the world’s newest megacities.

The works presented explore themes of place, identity, memory, and transformation through both abstract and representational approaches, offering audiences a dynamic snapshot of artistic exchange at this intersection of cultures.

As a collective, INX reflects the meeting of diverse cultural perspectives within Shenzhen’s contemporary urban environment, where international artistic practices engage directly with the city’s rapid transformation and contribute to an evolving cross-cultural visual dialogue.

Meet the Artists

Fox Pretorius is a South African visual artist and design educator based in Shenzhen, and a member of the International Shenzhen Artist Forum (ISZAF). His work explores the human experience within contemporary urban environments, using painting, printmaking, and mixed media to construct spatial tension through drawing and abstraction without a fixed narrative. In his recent polymer etchings, photographs of Shenzhen’s architecture are layered with abstract figurative drawing, positioning the figure within the logic of the built environment.
