Shenzhen (May 2024) – Grand Hyatt Shenzhen is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonny Shea as the new Executive Chef. In his role, Jonny will oversee and manage all culinary operations, ensuring the preparation of exquisite dishes that provide a delightful dining experience for guests.

Originally from New Zealand, Jonny Shea graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2001 with an advanced graduate certificate. He began his hospitality career at Hilton Auckland in 2002. Jonny is well-acquainted with Asia, having refined his skills in numerous kitchens worldwide. With over 22 years of experience in international luxury hospitality and extensive kitchen operations, he has most recently worked in Shanghai, Qingdao, Nanjing and Guangzhou. Jonny’s tenure at MO Guangzhou saw two of the outlets receive recognition in the Michelin guide. He also contributed to the success of the APEC financial forum and the Winter Olympics during his time with the Shangri-La Group.

Jonny is excited to join the team at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen.
