22 December 20__20: On Tuesday afternoon, some 500 teachers, students, their families and hotel clients gathered at the Grand Ballroom of the Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen to celebrate the ninth anniversary of Lang Lang Music World. Master Lang Lang also gave a masterclass to 18 students of his school at the occasion.
Students from Lang Lang Music World played “Beethoven: Minuet in G Major”, “Mozart: Sonatina K545, 1st Movement”, “Zhang Chao: Ballade”, “Copland: Cats and Rats” and other classic pieces. After that, Maestro Lang Lang asked students to go to the stage to make detailed reviews and demonstrations. Children in the audience broke out in hearty laughter from time to time as the world-renowned pianist used vivid language, exaggerated tones, hand gestures and body movements to get his point across.
Some were lucky enough to win a CD signed by Lang Lang, a voucher for the hotel’s Executive Salon Suite, and the special prize of Steinway piano at a lucky draw.
Kempinski Hotel Shenzhen has always been committed to creating new traditions as well as continuing to support art education and provide a stage for artists and art students.
