As LEH International School Foshan marks its fifth anniversary under the theme Honouring the Journey, Shaping the Future, the school community has welcomed an outstanding group of new educators for the 2026–27 academic year. The new appointments span academic leadership, Prep School specialist teaching, house system management, and sports coaching. All incoming staff are trained to UK standards, with the majority holding recognised British teaching qualifications and extensive experience in delivering IGCSE, A Level, and British-style curricula. Together with the existing faculty, they will further strengthen teaching quality across all year groups and support every student in achieving both academic and personal growth.

Ms Colebourne - Head of Sixth Form & Teacher of Physical Education

Ms Colebourne is a New Zealand educational leader with over 25 years of senior management experience across New Zealand, Japan, the UK, and China. She holds a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Education, and a Diploma in Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury, along with UK QTS, NPQH, and NPQSL qualifications. She has served as Secondary Principal, Director of Teaching and Learning, and PE Faculty Head at leading international schools in China, and specialises in Sixth Form development, university admissions, and gifted student pathways, with a proven track record of improving IGCSE and A Level outcomes through data-driven academic tracking and individualised support.

Mr Max Fielden - Head of Science Faculty

Mr Fielden is a British educator with over a decade of international teaching experience, holding an Honours Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, a PGCE, and QTS, and serving as an official Pearson Examiner. Fluent in Chinese (HSK 6) and Italian, he has held roles including Assistant Headmaster, House Master, and Summer School Science Director, and excels in data-driven academic intervention, systematic science curriculum design, and laboratory practical instruction, with a strong focus on supporting EAL learners and guiding students towards top university applications.

Dr Catharina Karlsson - Head of Biology

Dr Karlsson holds a PhD in Biological Science along with multiple ecology-related degrees from top universities in the UK, Singapore, and Sweden, as well as a Swedish teaching licence, a UK PGCE, and IB MYP certificates. A published conservation scientist with extensive international leadership experience across Sweden, China, and Singapore, she specialises in IGCSE, A Level, and Key Stage science, and is skilled at creating inclusive, student-centred learning environments for EAL students while leading curriculum alignment and WASC accreditation. 

Mr Dan Rust - Head of Humanities Faculty

Mr Rust holds a Master's degree in Educational Technology, dual bachelor's degrees in International Business Administration and Marketing, UK QTS, a US teaching licence, and Cambridge CELTA certification. Twice recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Award, he has extensive experience across Chinese bilingual international schools, specialising in CAIE, IGCSE, and A Level Business and Economics. As a department leader and interim Academic Director, he has built systematic curriculum frameworks and coached students to outstanding results in domestic and international Business and Economics competitions.

 Mr Jordan Cochrane - Head of Physics

Mr Cochrane is a New Zealand educator with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, and an official New Zealand teaching licence. A recipient of the TeachNZ STEM Scholarship, he brings seven years of science department leadership experience in New Zealand and Chinese international schools, specialising in IGCSE, Pre-AP, and NCEA curricula. He has designed independent Pre-AP programmes and advanced mathematics courses, and is experienced in digital learning platforms, bilingual assessment design, and fostering collaborative teaching cultures within his faculty.

Ms Alexandra Lally - Second in Science

Ms Lally holds a Biology PGCE with QTS from Edge Hill University, an LLB (Hons) Law degree, and a Biological Sciences diploma. With six years of science leadership and teaching experience in the UK and internationally across KS3, iGCSE, and A Level, she has previously served as Head of Science and excels in developing full-stage science syllabi, assessment frameworks, and differentiated, interactive lessons that foster critical thinking. She leads the school debate club and is pursuing the NPQSL senior leadership qualification.

 Mrs Jodie Norton - Second in English Department

Mrs Norton holds a BA Hons in English and Linguistics, a PGCE Secondary English with SEN specialism, and TEFL certification, along with the NPQML middle leadership qualification. With over 20 years of English teaching and middle leadership experience in UK mainstream secondary schools, she specialises in KS3 English curriculum design, differentiated instruction, and targeted academic intervention, and has developed systematic learning frameworks, unified marking standards, and in-service training programmes for teaching staff.

 Mr Alexander Nodes - Teacher of Mathematics & House Master

Mr Nodes holds a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics and a BA (Hons) in Architecture, along with NPQML, High Performance Learning (HPL) Teacher Leader, and EPQ Assessor qualifications. With 11 years of teaching experience, including five years as Head of House in the UK and six years as Head of Mathematics in Kazakhstan, he has taught KS3, IGCSE, and A Level Mathematics and introduced Inter-House competitions to build community spirit while also contributing to Music, Geography, performing arts, and the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.

Mr Darren Amena - Prep Teacher & Prep LAMDA Coordinator

Mr Amena holds a First-Class BA in Primary Initial Teacher Education with QTS and a Master's in International Education from King's College London. A British educator with extensive international primary teaching and grade leadership experience, he specialises in EAL support and IPC curriculum delivery. He designs creative, experiential lessons for young learners, serves as LAMDA supervisor to build confidence and performance skills through speech and drama, and organises residential trips, school productions, and Cambridge English weekend classes.

Ms Hannah Pearson – PE Teacher & Swimming Coach

Ms Pearson holds a BSc in Sport Education, an MSc in Adapted Physical Activity, and a UK PGCE/QTS for Secondary PE, along with NPQML and NPQSL certifications. A British PE and aquatic specialist with international teaching experience across the UK, Qatar, and China, she holds Swim England Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications and has designed systematic progressive swimming frameworks for all ages from Early Years to IGCSE, integrating physical literacy and inclusive sports development for EAL and SEN learners.
