Results – ((Apr 26th)Win 1-0 vs Liaoning Tieren FC

Summary – After a 3-game losing streak, Peng City finally got back to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory against Liaoning Tieren. They now sit at 3W-0D-5L and are in 6th/16, with 9 points, as many clubs continue to have point deductions affecting the table.

Juniors FC (Chinese League 1 – Pro Tier 2)

Results – (Apr 25th) Loss 0-3 vs Foshan Nanshi FC

Summary – After their impressive away win at Nanjing, Juniors FC suffered a surprise 0-3 home defeat to Foshan Nanshi FC. They now sit at 4W-0D-2L with 12 points, dropping to 4th in the table behind Guangdong GZ-Power (15pts), Nantong Zhiyun (14pts), and Jiangxi Dingnan United (12pts). Summary – After a sluggish start to the league season, 2028 FC have turned things around in a big way! They picked up their first league win 3-1 at home to bottom-of-the-table Guangdong Mingtu, then followed it up with a massive away win at league leaders Guangzhou Dandelion Alpha! They now sit at 2W-3D-1L with 9 points, in 6th place in the South Group.

Leopards Basketball (Chinese Basketball Association – Pro Tier 1)

Results – (Apr 19th) Loss 95:103 vs Shandong, (Apr 24th) Win 86:99 @ Guangzhou Loong Lions

Upcoming Home – CBA Playoffs Quarterfinals – Shenzhen Leopards (3rd Seed) vs TBD (Winner of Zhejiang Golden Bulls vs Ningbo Rockets first round series)

Summary – Shenzhen Leopards clinched the 3rd seed in the CBA Playoffs, their best-ever regular season finish, by closing out with a 30-12 record! MVP candidate He Xining and Terquavion Smith have been outstanding all season. The Leopards earned a first-round bye and will face the winner of the Zhejiang Golden Bulls vs Ningbo Rockets series in the quarterfinals!

Ice Hockey World Championship (Division 1 Group B)

Results – (Apr 29th) Loss China 4-7 South Korea, (Apr 30th) OT Win China 4-3 Romania

Summary – This tournament sees the Men’s Ice Hockey Chinese National team play against other countries (Spain, Estonia, Netherlands, Romania, South Korea) in their division. They are currently in the 3rd highest division in the world, and 1st place will see them promoted! China lost their opener 4-7 to South Korea but bounced back with a thrilling 4-3 overtime win against Romania, with Hou scoring the winning penalty shot in overtime. China currently sits 4th in the group with 2 points, Estonia and South Korea lead with perfect 2-0 records. Three game days remain!

Summary – The SIAFL is Shenzhen’s top amateur football league for the international community to play in, and has been around for 13 years now features many players that have played at competitive levels before. SZ Athletic are dominating early with a 13-4 thrashing of Futura in GW4 to stay top! Current league table leaders (after GW4): 1. SZ Athletic – 10 Points, 2. SZ Panthers – 10 Points, 3. Results – (Apr 18th) Loss 1:0 @ HK Lions FC, (Apr 25th) Win 3:0 vs HK Lions FC

Upcoming – (May 16th) HK Legal League Plate Final: Shenzhen Celtic vs A.S. Dragons (venue TBC)

Summary – Shenzhen Celtics FC finished their league season strong with a convincing 3-0 home win against HK Lions FC to end on 53 points, finishing 2nd in the 18-team league, just 2 points behind champions Victoria Park FC (55pts)! A fantastic campaign for the only Shenzhen club competing across the border. Up next, they look to bring home some hardware when they take on A.S. Dragons in the HK Legal League Plate Final on May 16th!
