Renaissance Shenzhen Bay Hotel Appoints New Chinese Executive Chef Mr. Devin Lin

SHENZHEN, JUNE 2025  – Renaissance Shenzhen Bay Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Devin Lin as the new Chinese Executive Chef, overseeing culinary operations at Wan Li Xuan Chinese Restaurant and banquet services.

Born in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, Chef Lin brings over 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He began his career at Tang Court Seafood Restaurant in Beijing in 2008, where he spent three years honing his skills and gradually rose through the ranks. He later joined Michelin Group’s Regal Li Yuan Restaurant in Shanghai, participated in the opening of Ningbo Li Yuan, and gained extensive expertise in authentic Cantonese cuisine and fine dining management.

From 2015 onwards, Chef Lin embarked on a new journey, leading the openings of several high-end restaurants. In 2018, he served as head chef at “Dongfu” Restaurant in Hangzhou, successfully launching four new branches and earning a nomination for the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide in 2019. In 2021, he was invited by Qingdao Chuange Fish Dumpling Group to establish the premium brand “Chuange Feast”, which won the “Golden Wutong Award”. In 2022, he served as Executive Chef at Hangzhou’s beloved 21-year-old restaurant “Niaoyuhuaxiang”, leading the team to top rankings on both Dianping and Douyin platforms. Most recently in 2024, he returned to his hometown to serve as Chinese Executive Chef at Sheraton Zhanjiang, managing a large-scale Chinese restaurant with over 50 private rooms and a 1,000-square-meter ballroom, achieving record-breaking revenue during the 2025 Lunar New Year Eve dinner.

Chef Lin deeply understands the essence of Cantonese cuisine — freshness, tenderness, smoothness, and crispness. He believes in “honoring tradition without being bound by it, and innovating without losing its roots,” emphasizing ingredient quality and seasonal timing while blending creativity with authenticity.

His arrival will bring fresh energy to Wan Li Xuan, elevating the dining experience and offering guests a refined yet imaginative taste of authentic Cantonese cuisine.
