Shen Wai International School Healthy Living Month 2018

What an amazing “SWIS Healthy Living Month” this year! The SWIS Parent and Teacher Association (SWIS PTA) had organized a variety of fun and educational activities that focused on exercise, healthy eating and healthy body & mind. We hope all the experiences will help ensure our SWIS community lives a happy and healthy lifestyle. A big THANK YOU to everyone for truly making this month a SUCCESS!! 新一届的SWIS家校委员会（PTA）在五月SWIS健康生活月（5月7日-31日）期间为社区带来一系列有趣又有爱的亲子健康活动。今年延续往年的传统，号召大家一起积极运动，关注身心健康，学习健康知识。我们很高兴地看到这些活动得到了社区成员的热情响应！在此，学校PTA希望向所有参与筹划，付出行动的老师，家长和学生表达衷心的感谢！ Here is a quick recap of some of the wonderful activities that happened this month. 让我们共同回顾2018年SWIS PTA健康生活月的精彩瞬间：

SWIS PTA Healthy Snack Giving Days 健康食品派发

The SWIS PTA organized 4 Healthy Snack Giving Days to distribute healthy snacks from each ofthe 5 major food groups. These activities took place every Monday after school at3:30pm, with PTA members and parent volunteers handing out free healthy snacksfor the SWIS community to enjoy. 在五月的每个星期一的放学时分，学校PTA成员和家长志愿者在校门口为学生分发健康食物。出于营养均衡的考虑，每个星期派发的的食物的品种各有不同。 Here were the Healthy Snack Giving Days designated for the 5 food groups: May 7th: GRAINS 5月7日，谷物 (健康杂粮棒） May 14th: VEGETABLES and PROTEIN 5月14日：蔬菜和蛋白质（有机水果胡萝卜、圣女果、豆奶） May 21st: DAIRY 5月21日：乳制品（芝士棒、酸奶） May 28th: FRUITS 5月28日：水果（苹果、香蕉、葡萄干）

SWIS PTA Educational Presentations 系列健康讲座：

The SWIS PTA also organized 3 interesting presentations for the SWIS community. There was a presentation on the “Anatomy of Good Posture” for our Secondary students, as well as aparent lecture on “Chiropractic Health care” on May 15th. We had a second parent lecture on “Dental Care for Healthy Smiles” on May 25th. The final parent lecture was on “Healthy Parenting: Good Behavior in Children” on May 29th. A big thank you to all our guest speakers for their presentations: Dr. Steve Chiarello from Vista-SK; Dr.Teddy Wu from U-Dental; and Dr. Rhoda Despabiladeras from Vista-SK. SWIS PTA Family Run 家庭亲子晨跑

The SWIS PTA Family Run is a fun, fitness activity for families to spend time together whileexercising. We had 8 successful Family Run days this month. The event was at7:45am–8:15am, every Tuesday and Thursday, from May 8th to May 31st.We would like to thank all the participants of the SWIS PTA Family Run and we encouragefamilies to continue planning more exercise time together and have fun!! Joinus next year for more fun fitness activities! “SWIS PTA家庭亲子晨跑“（原SWIS PTA家庭里程俱乐部）是一项充满趣味的健康运动项目，以家庭为单位，鼓励学生及家长培养强身健体的良好习惯，享受跑步的乐趣。该活动在5月的每个星期二和星期四早上7:45-8:15分在校操场举行。今年，PTA为此项活动特别定制了里程奖牌。每个参与跑步的家庭都领取了跑步里程记录册，每跑完操场一圈即可获得一枚盖章印花。以家庭为单位，每跑满24圈后就能兑换一枚活动奖牌（获得奖牌数量不限）。我们很高兴地看到许多家庭坚持跑了全部8天的晨跑！家长们的参与给了孩子更多的动力。孩子们的坚持也让家长们十分骄傲！ Thank you all! 感谢您的支持和参与！ SWIS PTA SWIS 家校委员会
