Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport has introduced China’s first robot-based food delivery service, enabling passengers to order meals from their departure gates with ease. Partnering with Meituan, a leading dining, retail, and delivery platform, the airport offers a seamless and innovative dining experience.

Travelers can use the Meituan app to order from 11 airport restaurants and shops, including popular brands like Starbucks, Heytea, KFC, Burger King, 7-Eleven, and Bestore. Orders are delivered directly to gates by “Bumblebee” robots, which autonomously navigate routes, operate elevators, and pass through access control gates.

One early user, Bao, shared his experience: “I ordered a burger from Burger King after clearing security, as their outlet was somewhat far from my gate. The robot delivered my burger right to me. It was adorable—it even announced, ‘Come get your delivery!’ when it arrived.”

A Meituan spokesperson noted, “This collaboration marks a milestone for transportation hubs. We aim to expand this ecosystem, bringing comforting and attentive services to users at home, work, or on the go.”
