St. Anthony’s Catholic Church stands as a vibrant beacon of faith, community spirit, and cultural unity in the heart of Futian in Shenzhen.
Officially opened to the public on December 18, 2001, the church quickly became a warm and welcoming spiritual home for locals and expatriates alike. A major milestone came several years later on 19 April 2009, when the first English Holy Mass was celebrated, opening its doors even wider and embracing greater inclusivity.
True to its spirit of fellowship and multicultural harmony, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church is set to host its 4th Annual Celebration of Unity in Diversity this October. Previously known as the International Garden Lunch Gathering, this lively annual event has become a highlight of the year, drawing parishioners from all walks of life to celebrate faith, friendship, and the rich tapestry of cultures that make the community so special.
The celebration promises a feast for the senses. Parishioners will proudly showcase and share traditional dishes from their home countries, various provinces across China, and the broader international community. Guests can look forward to a colorful culinary journey that beautifully reflects the joy of diversity. Adding to the festive atmosphere, a vibrant cultural and art display will highlight the unique heritage, creativity, and traditions of the participating communities.
As always, all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to charity, turning this joyful gathering into a meaningful act of generosity and support for those in need.
Holy Mass Schedule
Monday 7:00 AM Chinese service
Tuesday – Friday 7:00 AM: Chinese service & at 9:00 PM Chinese service (on 2nd Floor)
Saturday 7:00 AM Holy Mass & 7:00 PM Holy Mass (Chinese service)
Sunday 9:00 AM Chinese service, 11:00 AM English service & 7:00 PM English service
While the daily Holy Masses at St. Anthony’s Church are primarily celebrated in Chinese, the Gospel readings and many of the responses are thoughtfully displayed in English on four large screens, ensuring everyone can fully participate in the worship.
This welcoming approach perfectly captures the church’s warm and inclusive spirit.
