Shenyun Cultural and Sports Park

深云文体公园

Covering 80,000 square meters, Shenyun Cultural and Sports Park is located on the foot of Tanglang Mountain. There are 10 tennis courts, eight badminton courts, six basketball courts, two squash halls, a fencing hall and a soccer field. The sports halls are equipped with anti-vertigo LED lights and have hardwood and PVC sports flooring. Locals will enjoy a truly comfortable exercising experience here while receiving professional coaching from former athletes.

Mount Jiulong Sports Park

九龙山体育公园

Covering 64,400 square meters, Mount Jiulong Sports Park has a soccer field, two tennis courts, four basketball courts, eight badminton courts, swimming pools and a children’s recreational area. You can jog on a greenway that runs through the park and connects the sports venues. Lawns, trees and a lake in the park allow sports enthusiasts to get close to nature.

Children’s rooftop garden

坪山儿童公园屋顶共建花园

A 243-square-meter rooftop garden, with the nickname “Adults don’t come up,” has been unveiled recently at Pingshan Children’s Park. Through planting vegetables, flowers and fruits, and growing rice as a dry crop, children have discovered more about farming and botany. They have also learned hydroponic gardening as some vegetables are planted without soil and irrigated automatically. In this children’s “secret garden,” there’s also a handicraft area for holding regular events to develop children’s manual skills.

Opened in June, Pingshan Children’s Park not only has recreational facilities but also has preserved the original mountain landscape and botanical diversity. The park designers smartly integrated the playing facilities with the natural topography. There’s also a jungle adventure zone, an archaeological exploration zone, a dawn redwood wetland and a library in the park, which covers 57,000 square meters.

Bell Park

贝尔公园

Located in the intersection of Bei’er, Jihua and Tian’an roads in Bantian Subdistrict in Longgang District, Bell Park is a typical pocket park accessible to the public. Covering only 16,000 square meters, the park is designed with futuristic and artistic elements.

In the park, the sunken greenbelt captures and stores the rainfall and the rain gardens are designed to increase rain absorption by the soil. Lush plants and other landscape elements ensure that the park is welcoming and beautiful all year long.

Diaolou Time Park

碉楼时光公园

Diaolou Time Park, located at the Songyuanxia community in Guanhu Subdistrict, is a nice little community park where visitors can have a glimpse into the ingenuity of the architects and craftsmen in the early 1900s, while local residents could enjoy leisure activities.

The park is home to five diaolou buildings, namely Chen Kangfa Diaolou, Chen Heshun Diaolou, Chen Daoren Diaolou, Chen Xiantang Diaolou and Yongxiu Diaolou. They were originally built in the old villages in the Songyuanxia area in the early 1900s by overseas Chinese and their local descendants. In 2011, due to renovations in the villages, the five diaolou buildings were removed and relocated to the pocket park.
