Shenzhen, 11 October 2025 – Mandarin Oriental Shenzhen has been awarded a MICHELIN Key, in the 2025 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection. As one of 42 awarded hotels from mainland China, this esteemed accolade recognizes the hotel’s exceptional hospitality, unparalleled service, and extraordinary guest experiences, cementing its status as a top-tier destination in China.

Starting in April 2024, Michelin Guide introduced the MICHELIN Key distinction recognizing the most outstanding hotels in the world, similar to its star system for restaurants. A significant highlight of the inaugural global MICHELIN Key hotel selection is the inclusion of hotels from Mainland China for the very first time. The Michelin Keys represent a new benchmark for hotel excellence, with the One Key award signifying a “very special stay.”

This achievement reflects a significant recognition for Mandrin Oriental, Shenzhen, which opened its doors in 2022.

Located in the vibrant heart of Futian, adjacent to the city’s central business district, the hotel features over 178 rooms and suites, each offering sweeping urban views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Its design seamlessly blends contemporary aesthetics with timeless Oriental elegance, embodying refined luxury throughout.

It is celebrated for its outstanding culinary offerings, including 8 acclaimed restaurants and the iconic MO Bar — recently ranked No. 21 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars List 2025. Guests can explore everything from modern Chinese delicacies at the award winning The Bay by Chef Fei, to Teppanyaki at RIN or French fine dining at OPUS388 and many more. Complementing the exceptional dining experiences are a world-class spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, and an elevated pool, together creating an urban wellness sanctuary.

About The MICHELIN Key

Renowned worldwide for its restaurant recommendations and star ratings, The MICHELIN Guide has further expanded its reach by relaunching its hotel selection program, successfully featuring over 7,000 hotels across the globe. Just as the stars recognize the world’s finest dining experiences, the MICHELIN Key distinguishes the most outstanding accommodations within the MICHELIN Guide’s hotel selection. MICHELIN Guide inspectors rigorously evaluate each hotel against five universal criteria. The Key system places particular emphasis on the overall hospitality experience (rather than individual facilities alone), thereby establishing a new and pioneering global benchmark for exceptional stays.
