Responding to the expatriate community’s needs, Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats (Shekou MSCE) introduces a timely solution - the Shekou Expats’ Morning School. Catering specifically to stay-at-home parents and those available in the mornings, this program is a fresh counterpart to the well-received Shekou Expats’ Night School.

Commencing at 9 a.m. on February 27, the Morning School’s first session will feature the traditional Chinese qi gong exercise, Baduanjin, also known as Eight Pieces of Brocade. This is a series of easy-to-learn exercises that cultivate energy and promote health, making it an ideal start for beginners.

The Morning School program, offered every Thursday, comprises three core modules: Light Exercise, Cultural Perception, and Practical Skills. Participants can expect to engage in activities like Baduanjin and yoga, and explore traditional Chinese treatments. Practical skills such as using popular Shenzhen apps, smartphone photography, video production techniques, and makeup will also be covered. These programs, running from late February to May’s end, are meticulously designed to help expatriates better assimilate into local life and enhance their practical skills.

Parallel to this, the Night School, scheduled every Wednesday, will continue its popular Mandarin and Cantonese language classes. It will also introduce new content such as sports and cultural experiences, including traditional Chinese seal carving and bamboo weaving. Both the Morning and Night Schools strive to provide foreign residents with opportunities to improve their language abilities, experience culture, master practical skills, and enjoy a distinctive lifestyle.
