French Program at QSI International School Shenzhen

Starting in 2024, the French Program at QSI Shenzhen is the only AEFE-accredited program in town for students ages 2-10.

This accreditation, issued by the Ministry of National Education, certifies that our school provides a French-based curriculum in accordance with the values and requirements of the French education system.

Thanks to this accreditation, students with French passports can apply for scholarships from the French Consulate in Guangzhou.

For students over 10 years old, our program continues with a partnership with the CNED (National Center for Distance Education). This means that, to ensure consistency with the French program in middle school and high school, students are evaluated by teachers from the CNED.

The French Education Bureau organizes school learning by cycles.

Cycle 1: ages 2 to 5 — the primary learning cycle

Kindergarten: La maternelle — from the Petite Section to the Grande Section.

Here, our students are exposed to three languages from the beginning.

Cycle 2: 6- to 8-year-olds. This is the fundamental learning cycle.

The curriculum continues in French, with classes in English and Mandarin.

Additionally, students can start participating in extracurricular activities in the language of their choice.

French assessments align with BOEN requirements, and English assessments align with QSI Master Learning and are measured with MAP tests.

Cycle 3: 9- to 11-year-olds — the consolidation cycle

Middle and high school: Collège et Lycée with le CNED.

Our students prepare for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) at age 14 and can then choose to continue in the French program until they earn their Baccalaureate, specializing in mathematics, science, or foreign languages.
