About BMH Pre-School

Our Pre School is an IB World school, which uses ‘Chinese Kindergarten Guidelines for 3-6 Year Olds’ and the British EYFS as the curriculum framework. It brings together the world's excellent educational resources and integrates Chinese culture and educational traditions to develop a unique ‘East meets West’ curriculum, aiming to nurture children with multicultural awareness, good personality and moral character, fluent Chinese and English, gradually enhanced thinking ability and inner drive for lifelong learning, thereby helping them seamlessly progress to primary school and enable every child to grow up naturally and become their best self.

01 Unique bilingual inquiry programme

The Pre school curriculum incorporates the best educational practices from both East and West, including the IBPYP and the Reggio 'learning through play' approach, providing enrichment materials and opportunities for children to learn in the most accessible way. Children are taught to explore and think through play and to stimulate their creativity.

02 Scientific Assessment System

Combining the British EYFS and China's "Child Development and Guidelines for 3-6 year olds", we have developed a scientific assessment system for our school, which is divided into new student adaptation assessment, unit of inquiry assessment and termly assessment. Targeted teaching adjustments are made around the assessments.

03 Focus on Bilingualism for Children

During the critical period of language development, we provide a bilingual immersive language environment, with Chinese language classes focusing on picture book reading and traditional culture learning.

English language classes are conducted by expatriate teachers throughout the day, with English language learning based on 'Phonics', 'Talk for Writing'， 'Speaking and Listening' and 'Guided Reading'. Children make significant progress in reading, writing and listening.

04 Activity Courses

There are various activities each month based around Chinese and Western festivals and the inquiry programme, in which the children experience the differences between Chinese and Western cultures.

BMH junior high School emerged as a regional frontrunner in its inaugural semester, solidifying its educational reputation with exceptional 2024-2025 Grade 7 cohort achievements in the first district-wide assessment:

72.0% attained overall Grade A or above, with Chinese Language achieving 66.4% A+ to A rates, Mathematics demonstrating 43.6% A+ distinction and 71.8% A-or-above performance, while English Language secured 69.1% A-or-higher attainment.
