LEH Foshan was founded on the blueprint of one of England’s oldest and pioneering schools – Lady Eleanor Holles School (LEH). Chosen as Independent Girls’ School of the Year 2021 at the Independent School Awards, LEH is a school where students successfully combine impressive intellectual endeavour with enthusiastic engagement well beyond academia. Their exam results and their sporting achievements are among the best in the UK. Their musical and dramatic activities place them among the best of young performers.
In 2021, 97% achieved A*-B at A level and 96% achieved A*-A (9-7) at GCSE. 90% of the students entered the universities of their first choices. At LEH Foshan it is our goal to match the excellent academic standard of our sister school.
Mrs Jane Arden is the Headteacher of LEH International School Foshan. She studied at both Liverpool, John Moores University and Liverpool University where she was awarded a BA (hons)in History, and a PGCE. Prior to this role, she was the Deputy Principal of Chengdu Westminster founding team, as well Director of Teaching and Learning and Head of English. Before that, Jane spent four year as Head of Academics and English at Wellington College International. With over 20 years in education, she has led schools to achieve outstanding IGCSE and A level results. Jane Arden has also worked as Assistant Principal examiner for AQA English language. Training and mentoring teachers is key for Jane in creating schools fit for the 21st century.

Mrs Kirk has taught Maths for over 30 years around the world in top international schools, including Colombia, Spain, Dubai, and Thailand. Mrs Kirk has taught all year groups at senior level and all abilities including fast track students. She is also an A Level Examiner.

Dr Martin Kirk
Head of Science & Technology Faculty
Dr Kirk has over 25 years of experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics in local schools in the UK and British international schools around the world including in Thailand, Dubai, Spain, and China. He is also an associate examiner of Pearson A-Level Chemistry. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry, both from the University of Leeds.

Mr Hobourn has over 20 years of experience in music education and performance. He has also been on the music examining panel of Trinity College London since 1999. He is a Graduate of Trinity College of Music as well as Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. Mr Hobourn held Organist and Choir Direction posts in the cathedrals in the UK and New Zealand.
Mr Stuart Savill
Head of Drama & Creative Arts Faculty
Mr Savill has been teaching Drama for over 20 years and before joining LEH Foshan, he had been Head of Head of Drama for 11 years in a UK school. He has also worked as a Senior Examiner and Senior Moderator for GCSE Drama. In his early years, he also worked within the Performing Arts Industry as a performer/actor and in other related roles. Mr Savill graduated from the University of Middlesex with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Theatre Arts with English Literary Studies.

In addition, they will have a non-examined core programme of Physical Education, Personal, Health and Social Education and Critical Thinking.

Whether in the Art Department, on the stage or concert hall, or on the playing field, our talented students happily balance a heavy academic load with a range of extra-curricular activities.
ECAs (Extra Curricular Activities) at LEH Foshan are mandatory as we believe developing an active, healthy lifestyle is key to supporting physical, social, and emotional health and wellbeing. We offer ECAs 2 sessions per day, 1 hour per session, from Monday to Friday including a wide range of activities and we change them termly.

Students at LEH Foshan benefit from a vertical pastoral and tutoring structure that is carefully designed and well organised. This enables the school to give increased care and due attention to an individual’s pastoral and academic needs; and supports the development of community across the school.
In a vertical pastoral structure tutoring groups are made up of students from all years of the school from within the same house. This familial structure allows new students to develop alongside peers who are further along in their educational journey. Acting as role models, senior students become friends and mentors to younger students.

LEH Foshan aims to provide a home from home, high-quality boarding experience within a safe, secure, caring, happy and comfortable environment in a positive, trusting and encouraging atmosphere. To promote the development of good character and confidence through the promotion and a healthy balanced lifestyle whilst providing guidance and support enabling students to thrive academically, socially, morally and culturally – to reach their full potential/ to become leaders of the future/ to leave prepared for an everchanging world/ to leave as responsible young adults destined for greatness.
When students join LEH Foshan, they will share an en suite room with students of the same age. The modern design of the rooms will ensure they have **privacy, space to work individually or collaboratively** while providing the support and facilities to ensure the students’ need only focus upon their learning.
Boarding students at LEH Foshan develop a new level of independence, resilience and confidence. As well as benefiting from a full timetable of academic subjects, they also enjoy a strong programme of extra-curricular activities and teacher-supervised Evening School.
In addition to the wide range of Extra-Curricular Activities arranged by the school, students can also benefit from evening and weekend activities. LEH Foshan has partnered with Compass, the world’s leading catering group, to provide a healthy, nutritious and balanced meals for our students to make sure they have the nutrients and energy to perform at their very best
At LEH Foshan, working with expert nutritionists from Compass, we design and deliver dishes daily using recommended nutritional standards. Nutrition labels are carefully checked to ensure students and staff receive the right amount of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins they need in their daily diet. The menu varies on daily basis to offer fresh, balanced and diverse meals which represent the highlights of our school day.
Food Committee is from our Student Council to allow feedback, comments and communication between the school and the dining team. Every staff and student in School can discuss and comment on food provision both in the cafeteria and in the boarding house. They can pass on ideas through an online suggestion box.

Applications are processed by LEH Review Committee. Assessment results are reviewed along with the provided documentation. Parents are informed of the decision within five working days.

Parents will receive by email, either:
i) an offer of a place; ii) a conditional offer; iii) a waitlist offer or, iv) a decline.
The email will clearly explain the next steps for each category.
