Exciting news has recently emerged from the much-anticipated Xili High-Speed Rail Hub in Shenzhen!

On January 23rd, the Guangdong Provincial Government work report revealed plans to commence construction of the Xili High-Speed Rail Hub in 2024. Upon completion, this hub is poised to surpass Shenzhen North Station, not only becoming the largest high-speed rail station in Shenzhen but also the largest rail transit interchange in China.

As one of the “Three Major Strategic Projects” in Shenzhen, the Xili Comprehensive Transportation Hub is strategically located in the central-northern part of the Nanshan District. It borders the Liuxiandong emerging industry headquarters base to the north and the northern area of the Nanshan Science and Technology Park (High-tech North Area) to the south. This hub is a critical link in the technological innovation axis of Nanshan District, Shenzhen. It’s planned as one of the primary hubs among the “three main and four auxiliary” hubs in Shenzhen.

The area surrounding the Xili Comprehensive Hub is encircled by Nanping Expressway, Shahe West Road, Chaguang Road, and Nanhai Avenue. It spans approximately 2200 meters east to west and 550 meters north to south, covering an area equivalent to around 169 football fields.

The planned scale of Xili Station includes 13 platforms and 25 tracks, surpassing the 11 platforms and 20 tracks of Shenzhen North.

In terms of rail connectivity, national railways including the Ganshen High-Speed Railway, Shenmao Railway, the second Guangshen High-Speed Railway, and the Shenshan and Shenzhu Inter-City Railways will be integrated. For inter-city travel, the Shenzhen-Huizhou and Shenzhen-Dongguan-Zengcheng inter-city railways will have stations at Xili. Additionally, the metro lines 13, 15, and 27 will have stops at Xili, with line 29 providing interchange options with these lines.
