SZ Airport Opening More International Flights From Today

SHENZHEN Bao’an International Airport will open a direct flight to Manila, the Philippines, starting today, and will resume flights to Frankfurt, Germany, and Tehran, Iran, soon for the winter and spring flight season, which started officially yesterday.

The flight season will last until March 30, 2024.

Shenzhen Airline’s flight ZH9011 to Manila will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The flight will depart Shenzhen at 11:20 a.m. and arrive in Manila at 1:30 p.m. Its return flight will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The flight will depart Manila at 2:30 a.m. and arrive in Shenzhen at 5:00 a.m.

The airport will also open route to Cairo, Egypt, and Fukuoka, Japan, a source from the airport said yesterday.

For the new flight season, the airport will be handling over 700 international and cross-Strait flights.

Domestically, airline companies will be adding more flights on routes with 38 other cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuxi, and Chongqing. Flights between Shenzhen and northeastern cities like Harbin and Shenyang will be increased to over 100 a week, to further promote snow and ice destinations for the season.

In the new travel season, Shenzhen airport will handle 1,300 flights a day, 20% more than the same period in 2019.

In terms of cargo service, cargo flight operators will open routes to Phuket, Thailand, and Budapest, Hungary, and add more flights on the routes to Los Angeles, the U.S., and Sydney, Australia. The airport will handle over 950 cargo flights a week, linking Shenzhen will more than 170 cargo destinations worldwide.
