Shenzhen Weekly Round Up – Sep 5, 2022: Citywide Lockdown Ends, Classified Control Measures Begin

Dear Shenzhen-er,

Shenzhen is moving into "classified" control measures from today. Essentially your level of restrictions is based on the sub district you live in. For those areas that didn't have any cases over the weekend you're able to leave your complex. For those areas that had positive cases - your lockdown continues for 3 days from the last positive case. Please double check with your local authorities as my summary above is relatively, but not absolutely consistent across the city. Additional details can be found in this article.

I saw a number of pictures circulation online of empty food shelves at local grocery stores on Thursday - this article aims at assuaging our concerns. For those of you that have the misfortune of having your health code turn yellow - don't worry - just make sure to get a covid test as soon as possible. A negative test result will have you green again in no time.

Events are continuing to prove a tough endeavor for organizers and participants alike. Vista's welcome to Shenzhen event has been postponed until the 17th for those of you that haven't heard. I'm still waiting for the latest waves of restrictions to die down before rescheduling our doggy community event. Events that take us out of the city like SailingWhaleCo's Mid-Autumn Sunset Cruise this weekend are becoming a go-to solution to avoid postponement/cancellations.

I won't lie to you - the past several days have been tough. Take that extra "me" time when you can - we all need it!
