Dear Shenzhen-er,

Covid is continuing to drift in the background - no cases were reported as of yesterday, and the total number of medium/risk areas has dropped to 16 as of this writing. Sadly, on a related note that made national headlines, yesterday morning 27 people were killed in a Covid-19 quarantine bus crash in Guiyang.  Monkey Pox made a return to the headlines today with the first local case has been reported in Chongqing. Anecdotally, despite announcements advising otherwise, I can report locals are still providing me with my normal amount of skin-to-skin contact :-). Metro Line 14 is scheduled to open up on the 28th of October. It's noteworthy as it is will be the cities first autonomous line - no human conductor required!

Thanks to those of you that came out to Vista's Newcomers event last weekend. We're still holding back from rescheduling our own community events until things settle down further - sorry about that. Our friends at IamHaigui are running one of the area's largest job fairs this week and the German Chamber will be running a poolside brunch mixer on Sunday that should be worthwhile. As always please visit our events page for all a full listing of all events going on this week!

P.S. - Please let us know how we're doing! We're always eager to improve, and we'd like to do so based on your input! You can reply directly to this email or get in touch with me personally on wechat: david-d-ho. Thanks!
