Shenzhen Weekly Round Up – Aug 22, 2022: Covid in Bao’an, Drought-Relief, and a Child Saving 😉

Dear Shenzhen-er,

Covid continues to metastasize from it's newly formed bases in Xinjiang & Hainan (our favorite mainland vacation spots this season) back to the cities. 11 Cases were reported locally here on Saturday and another 6 yesterday. Restrictions have increased in the Bao'an area in response - the OH Bay Ferris wheel has suspended service until further notice, and Ferry services between the airport and Zhongshan and Zhuhai have been suspended as well. The heatwave continues to make headlines, here's one of a few articles I came across this morning: Ministry coordinates drought-relief efforts to support the autumn grain harvest. Finally on a more positive note, a short piece on some local heroism out in Guangming District.

A big thanks to those of you who joined us at the AMP Music Camp festival or our Go-Kart event last weekend. This weekend we'll be over at Terrace for their Casino Night event offering a more convenient nightlife option for many of you.
