Dear Shenzhen-er,
I did the maths on it - as an x-runner I felt obliged - and with the new 2:08:19 record set at The Shenzhen Marathon yesterday, the winning runner would have been averaging sub-5 minute miles for the entire race (4.89 minutes per mile to be precise). That insanely fast for a painfully long period of time. Spoiler-alert the title was taken by a Kenyan runner - from the previous record holder who was also a Kenyan runner :)
Charlie Munger passed away last week on Tuesday. I just finished listened to a podcast interviewing the investment mogul himself - lookup the Acquired podcast if your interested. There's plenty floating around there about this news in the international press, here's a short opinion piece published by our local Shenzhen Daily for your consumption.
Finally I thought I'd share a little fluff about the culinary wonders for the budget conscious in Hong Kong. I've been to the Queen Street Cooked Food Market myself more than once and I have to say - although the venue isn't terribly impressive (think food court over a wet market... because that's what it is 🙂) - the edibles are noteworthy and generally leave your wallet unscathed.
Thanks to those of you that came out to support "Pawspective" Shenzhen's first ever photo charity auction event benefiting Karuna rescue this past Saturday, was great to see some of our community leaders out there - old and new - in support of this important initiative. As always a tip-of-the-hat to Jenny and Sachin for their steadfast support of all the dogs they care for at Karuna and a big hearty thankyou to David Bilicky and his team for putting together the event.
