Dear Shenzhen-er,
As we're at the "tail" end of the flying lizard holiday - here's a little recap of boating festivities that took place in Hong Kong and a quick snapshot of the eyebrow raising consumer spending data for the holiday (TL:DR - some metrics exceed pre-covid performance).
It's commonplace to hear me remark "No.. I'm not buying another car until they can drive themselves - it's the only feature that would motivate me to "upgrade." Car's are a complete waste of money!" My frugal mindset aside, Shenzhen is aiming to be the first city in China to bring fully autonomous driving into commercial operation - planning to put 100 driverless cabs and busses "Double 100" on the road by the end of the year!
Our friends at Ayos are having an annual celebration at their food truck location in 90+ in Nanshan - something fun to do early on in the week! For a more formal experience consider catching the Phantom of the Opera before showings end on the 2nd of July. THE city’s tourism sector received a total of 3.38 million visits and recorded an impressive revenue of 1.79 billion yuan (US$249.31 million) during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, up 34.92% and 26.68% year on year respectively, hitting a new high in the past five years, data from the tourism administration showed.
