Aside from the commencement of the Canton Fair - here are a few of my handpicked highlights from this weeks news cycle: The Annual pet fair held in the Futian Convention center will be wrapping up tomorrow (a worthwhile adventure to undertake if your furry friend happens to be of an easily portable size), and The Vienna Choir boys - out of Austria - have concluded their Mainland tour (you'll need to head to HK if you're interested in experiencing their vocal talents).
Wanted to plug some of the longests standing community driven events around town this week - please consider patronizing them to support their ongoing efforts to keep their respective scenes alive in this city that sorely needs it. TakeOut Comedy's weekly comedy night on Tuesday @ Jack's Bar in Shekou, Big Bear Comedy's Open Mic night @ Cafe Society in Futian, Lazy Laowai's regular Karaoke Night on Friday @ their venue in Shekou, & finally Captivating's Annual Charity event on Saturday @ The Shangri-La in Futian.
