Dear Shenzhen-er,
Most noteworthy news for our community out this past week was undoubtedly the announcement of visa-free travel to China being implemented for a number of countries, aside from that our friends at Shenzhen Daily hosted an Expat focused poetry recital over the weekend and the Nanshan half-marathon hosted over 16,000 runners yesterday.
What I'm particularly excited about this weekend are a few events focused on man's best friend. This Saturday David Bilicky in association with NowShenzhen is proud to be hosting a one-of-a-kind dog charity event on Saturday - "Pawspective". The event be completely free to attend and the featured activity (among many more!) will be a silent auction aimed at reframing the characterization of rescued animals. All proceeds of the event will go to support Karuna Rescue - "the" expat run animal rescue brand of the city in our opinion. The very next day our Guangzhou buddy Global Friendship will be hosting a "Deck the Paws" event which will be a dog-friendly dog focused event with activites and booths for owners and furry companions alike. A portion of proceeds will also be donated towards Karuna Rescue's efforts!
I'm still recovering from two intense days at Ginour Warriors - Strongman Carnival over this past weekend! If you're interested in the strength community in the GBA it'll be worth your time to connect with them via Wechat or the web and learn about what their doing in the space.

The event, titled “Shared Moments in Poetry,” held at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Futian District, left behind an ethereal resonance long after the final words faded into the night.
